Blogger's Quilt Festival!

I have to admit that my favorite quilt is usually my latest quilt. Keeping with that spirit....here is my entry for the Blogger's Quilt Festival! I loved the Festival the last time around. I was introduced to so many great quilts and blogs. Thanks Park City Girl for doing this again! Go check out the other entries.

***Thanks for all of your sweet comments! I used the instructions from the September/October '08 issue of McCalls Quilting Magazine. Check it out here. You can find a similar pattern at Pink Chalk Studio Mini Merry-Go-Round That pattern uses a Jelly Roll and a HoneyBun, but it's the same basic technique***

This quilt was made with 2 jelly rolls from the Recess line by American Jane for Moda. It was really simple to put together. No set in seams, whatsoever! (I don't think I would have attempted it if there had been!)

My little guy wanted his sock monkey in one of pictures. I was happy to oblige:)

That quilt is AWESOME !
I had to look at a closeup of it to believe you when you said that there were no set-in seams.
WOW....WOW....WOW !
I want one just like it !
This would make a really cool baby quilt too. Maybe that's what I'll try first to try out the pattern.
Hope you don't mind if I save your photo in my pictures file !

By the way, I just read your profile and wanted to say......my daughter, Kelley, is a stay at home mom of three kids also, two boys and a girl, and her hubby's an army man all the way. They're currently stationed in Germany on an Army base for a few more months.

I LOVE this quilt- is it called Merry-Go-Round? I have to agree with your little guy- the monkey makes the pic!
Take care!

Beautiful quilt. Great fabrics, colors & design. Looks difficult to me, but I'd love to try to make it given you said it can be done w/o set in piecing. Now I'm curious where you found the design.

Thanks for sharing.

Oh how cute (to the sock monkey of course). My daughter has to be in all of my quilt photos. It's a thing she loves to do.

In the past month or so when I wrapped one up she was so excited to be in the photo so I took it, and then she moved out of the way and said "now it's the quilt's turn". I thought it was the sweetest thing.

I've wanted to make a quilt like this for a while and even bought nesting templates, but it's daunting to think of trying it, can you point me to your pattern or inspiration?

What a wonderful quilt - just the one to wrap up in..love the sock monkey too..my mother-in-law gave me one back in the late '60's and he is still getting into mischief!

I love the vintage feel of your quilt. It reminds me of the quilts my grandmother made in the 1930's.

This is a great quilt and great pattern. Some members of my quilt guild recently made quilts with this pattern and they looked so intriguing. I think I'll have to add it to my "someday" list.
